Top five Films about Poker
Since the golden period of the Western, poker playing has long been a preferred theme in Hollywood. Though lots of the Hollywood films that feature poker aren't amazing and a number of them even display poker in a stupid demeanour, watching poker action on the big-screen is brilliant fun, especially if you play poker yourself. Here are the best poker films that were ever produced in Hollywood. Some of the photos are largely superb films actually to their demonstration of the poker game, while in others the poker games is the feature that makes them worth watching. However if you're a poker fan, add these photographs to your musts list. The 1973 Academy award winner features young Paul Newman as the best confidence man of all of them who coachs young Robert Redford in the art of trickestry.

David S. The Cincinnati Kid directed by Norman Jewison in 1965 The classic stud poker film famous for its climate final hand and the rememberable quote : Gets down to what its all about, does it not? Making the bad move at the right time.

Robinson in the Great Depression in New Orleans.

It may not appear at any other list of best photographs, nevertheless it actually has one of the very best poker scenes ever seen on the big-screen. California Split directed by Robert Altman in 1974 California Split won't be the pick of Robert Altmans creation, but is among the best films to picture the messy daily life of two pro gamblers played by George Segal and Elliott Gould. Like in lots of Altman films, the tale isn't especially straight and the end isn't invariably content, however it does achieve success in describing an authentic experience. In addition, poker trivialities fans would be excited to learn that poker legend Amarillo Slim plays a little role. The centre of the film is a long poker marathon in which Mat Damon and Edward Norton try to make cash to pay off the second gambling obligations.

World Series of Poker champion Johnny Chan plays a featured role. Maverick directed by Richard Donner in 1994 though Maverick isn't the most brilliant film ever made and some of the poker scenes are kinda daft, it is a fun and light headed poker motion picture. It may even offer you a basic concept on what it was like to be a rambling gambler in the old west card scene with Mel Gibson as a maverick who makes an attempt to earn enough bucks for the big 5 card draw poker competition.
