The 5 Signs That Show You Need Marriage Counselling
It can be too easy to fall into a rut in a relationship. You both keep on living your lives without realising that you are growing apart and the magic has gone. There doesn’t mean your relationship is over though. Marriage counselling can help you to get your lives back together again and strengthen your relationship for the future. These professional services can help you to talk through problems and work out your relationship issues in a safe and neutral environment. Here are the five key signs that can show that you could benefit from marriage counselling.

1.  Lack of Communication

Communication is the key to a healthy, happy relationship.  If you no longer communicate with each other then you are heading for disaster.  A lack of communication means you no longer talk or listen to each other.  There is no sharing of problems, triumphs or feelings.  This can create an estrangement between two people who are supposed to be close with each other.  If you no longer share your feelings with your partner or all your conversations seem to end in arguments then you could benefit from marriage counselling.

2. Lack of Passion

If you no longer make love or it has become a chore then this can signal the weakening of the closeness in your relationship.  Sex is an integral part of a strong relationship but it should be more than just satisfying an urge.  Making love is about sharing intimate experiences with your partner and bringing each other closer together.  If this is missing from your marriage then this is a clear sign that you are growing apart.

3. Arguments

No two people can agree on everything but if arguments are becoming more frequent and intense then you need to take another look at your relationship.  Arguments that are never truly resolved have a habit of escalating and this can lead you to saying things to each other that may be unforgivable or even physical violence.  Get some professional counselling as soon as possible to help you deal with excessive disputes and fighting in your relationship.

4.  Separate Lives

If you find you are spending very little time together and effectively living separate lives then you could be in trouble in your relationship.  Although it is healthy for you both to have individual hobbies you do need to spend some time together on joint interests.  This builds a strong relationship based on shared experiences.  If you are avoiding spending time with your spouse or prefer other peoples company then there are some serious problems in your marriage you need to deal with.

5. Childcare has become a burden

Having children is a natural step in a marriage.  However if both parents are not having an input then childcare can become a burden.  Both parents are responsible for the care and wellbeing of your offspring and there is no excuse for not participating in your parental duties.  Counselling can help bring your family back together and find effective solutions to sharing childcare.
