Social Media Time-Savers-TweetDeck
Why is TweetDeck considered such a handy tool in the social media community?nSource Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia.nnFor those who are not familiar, TweetDeck is an Adobe AIR desktop application for Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, Google Buzz, Foursquare, and MySpace. nnLike other Twitter applications it interfaces with the Twitter API to allow users to send and receive tweets and view profiles. It is the most popular Twitter application with a 19% market share as of June 2009, following only the official website with 45.70% share for posting new status updates. It is compatible with several operating systems including Microsoft Windows, Mac OS X and Linux. An iPhone version was released on June 19, 2009 and an iPad version was released in May 2010 as well. A beta version for Android was released on August 12, 2010.nUser interfacennUsers can split the program into columns which show different things, for instance tweets from friends. TweetDeck interfaces with Twitscoop, 12seconds and Stocktwits, all of which can appear in separate columns.nnIt also allows users to split the people they follow into groups, a very useful feature to many users. The client supports URL shortening which can be done on-the-fly.nIntegration with other social networking servicesnnOriginally, TweetDeck was aimed towards the Twitter social networking service. On March 16, 2009, a pre-release version was released featuring Facebook status updates integration. As of April 8, 2009, Facebook status updates are part of the standard program. As of version 0.30 TweetDeck also supports MySpace integration. This includes the ability to set user moods, a feature specific to MySpace. In addition, version 0.32, released on 30th November 2009, adds LinkedIn integration, as well as new Twitter features. In May 2010 TweetDeck also added integration with the Google Buzz and Foursquare social networks.nnAlthough many users like TweetDeck, SocialOomph speed, stats and ability to schedule tweets close the deal for me. nnDo you want to start Executing a Social Networking Business Plan That Works?
