If you happen to be thinking about what console games the kids will probably be wanting this Christmas, the Lego Batman game is already a hit. Children love Lego and the fact they can combine their best toy with their number one superhero is really a recipe for success. This Lego game is available in various versions compatible with your Nintendo Wii, DS or Playstation so be sure to purchase the right one depending on the games console you own.
So what is the Batman Lego game about? No matter the medium used i.e. Wii, DS or Playstation, the basic principles are the same. The game is set in Gotham City where Batman and Robin are struggling to return the villains to the asylum. They fight through the ocean, land and air in several Batmobiles including the stealthy Batwing. It is important to assemble certain things and answer various puzzles to uncover special powers and so on. You don't need to be an expert on the Batman story either. This particular console game, unlike Lego Star Wars or Lego Indiana Jones isn't going to follow the movie script.
Every last stage must be played twice, once in story mode and again in free play. In story mode, you get to unlock various characters that you then use to play during the free play mode. As soon as you are in free play you are free to solve puzzles and get bonuses. You may also construct vehicles and weapons to use when fighting your enemies. The personas have unique movements and there are numerous factors of the game so you and your kids won't lose interest playing. Young kids may very well have a problem a little using the actions but with a little help they should be fine. Many will appreciate that compared with other Wii games you won't need to start again if you happen to die but simply drop coins.
Even if we often think kids really like the goodies, it is fair to say that they can like playing the baddies just as much if not more. In this game you're able to play from both sides i.e. they can be Batman or Robin or some might prefer to be one of the villains such as Joker, Catwoman or Penguin.
The Lego Batman game could be played either alone or with other people for extra fun. If you get stuck on a level and just can't find a way out you can find video tutorials online with answers. It's enjoyable attempting to solve the puzzles all by yourself though sometimes it might get a little frustrating. Obviously if you want to cheat your way through the Lego Batman game you will find plenty of clues to help you do this but that wrecks the fun of this terrific game.
